We have been focusing on some of the early psychological theorists and their original theories.  It is clear that these theories in their original forms are difficult to apply to modern psychology and its practices.  However, it is also abundantly clear that their influence on later theories and culture at large has been significant.  In this discussion forum, I would like for you to take a specific component of one of these theories that you feel has integrated into society in general.  Identify the concept in relation to the original theory.  Identify how it is being used by people today.  Lastly, identify if the current use would have pleased or appalled the originating theorist.  I intend for this exercise to demonstrate how ubiquitous these early theories have become to society at large.  However, if you feel you have a compelling example from the psychology/academic community, you may use it

Answer #1

The original form of psychological theories do you have influence on the modern theories and the culture itself. However, like many other things over a period of time theories are modified not only by academicians but also by the general population. this can be e understood with an example, Sigmund Freud so the psyche as to be a constituent of three parts that is ID, Ego and superego, where the ID is responsible for the instincts and needs without the real world logic and demanding for wanted needs right now and right here, whereas superego focuses on morality and the values and ethics of the society and how the needs of it cannot be completed right now and right here. Now Ego is the part of psyche that actually balances ID and superego and helps us deal with situations by fulfilling its need file keeping the morals of superhero intact.

In today's world Ego is not considered a part of psyche but Ego is considered to be related to the particular gender of males and male ego is often inclined towards the needs of ID rather than superego. It is considered to be social construct which is vulnerable and rigid at the same time and may create issues for others and the person itself.
