Consider the level of significance Alpha to be 0.05 and the confidence interval is 95% which means that if you formulate a null hypothesis you would accept the null hypothesis at that level of significance only if p is greater than 0.05 and if it is less than 0.05 is simply reject the null hypothesis and accept the alternate hypothesis and that is the significance of p less than 0.05.
