Time Work: It is work done or paid for by the unit of time such as per hour or per day. In the case of increasing work demands, people use time management strategies to manage time better. Following are some of the time management strategies that people use

  • Minimize interruptions and distractions
  • Stop procrastinating
  • Limit multi-tasking and finish tasks at one go
  • Prioritize and focus on high-value tasks first

I use the strategy of finishing tasks at one go. If I start a task, I don't consider any other task before ending it. This increases my productivity as my thoughts don't have to switch frequently and I save time.

High-status professional jobs have the following stresses

  • Competitive performance pressure in an out or win race
  • Stress due to very high level of stakes
  • Stress due to subjective decisions to make with very high implications
  • Stress due to demanding work-load

Stress with contingent jobs with non-standard work hours

  • Stress due to the imbalanced body clock resulting from lack of schedule
  • The stress of non-sustenance and job-insecurity. This results in the parallel look-out for job opportunities
