a. In recent years, books and articles have warned people of the dangers of “workaholism.” During the same period there have been few, if any, warnings about chronic laziness. Which is more prevalent in this country today, workaholism or chronic laziness?

b. The view of winning attributed to Vince Lombardi is “Winning isn’t everything—it’s the only thing.” Is this a healthy view to bring to athletic competition? To other forms of competition?

c. Many people believe parents should be held legally and financially responsible for children over the age of sixteen who live at home. Is this a reasonable stance?

1. According to me, in today's world workaholism is more prevalent in our country. Everyone wants to reach the top in the shortest duration. They feel money is everything to them and their family to be happy. So they spend all their time trying to earn more leaving no sufficient time for the family and friends.
2. The view is definitely healthy one. We should have the spirit of being competitive in our minds to that we can give the best performance, but we should have this thought clear that win or loss, the life goes on and there will me many more events to come. We should not give up at one thing that went wrong and forget to do anything better. There should be no jealousy in our minds and we need to learn the good things form the others.
3. I do not believe that parents should be held legally and financially responsible for children over the age of sixteen who live at home. This is so because over 16 years if age children become mature to decide what they want form life. They have to be made independent enough to fight the world and become good beings. They need to learn lessons from their own struggles and try to shape their career of their own. After all parents will not be there always and one has to start form the scratch sometime in life, then why not early. Parents can surely provide assistance and help them out when needed but their dependency should not be much. This will make teh children morally and emotionally strong.
