Ans 1 :

The diameter of atom is equal to : 2 x radius

So here , the diameter of nickel atom will be : 2 x 125 pm = 250 pm

The distance to be covered = 1.78 mm = 1.78 x 109 pm

So the number of nickel atoms will be equal to :

= distance / diameter of one atom

= ( 1.78 x 109 pm) / 250

= 7120000 nickel atoms
