  • Marketing is done in order to benefit the organization in long and short term whereas traditional marketing impact on the business is limited to daily operations.
  • Marketing involves a wide range of activities by understanding customer needs, market research and customer relationship whereas traditional marketing is more related to matching supply and demand.
  • Marketing uses pull strategy by attracting prospective buyers to company products and services whereas traditional marketing uses push strategy whereas distribution channels are used to take products to the customer.
  • Marketing usually revolves around 4P (Price, Product, Place and Promotion) strategy in identifying the price of the product, product attributes, distribution channels and promotional activities of product and service whereas traditional marketing is more of customer interaction with the salesperson in order to make the sale happen.
  • Marketing is more strategic in nature whereas traditional marketing is more transactional in nature.
  • Marketing involves entire process of understanding customer needs, creating products and services which can meet customer needs, advertise and distribute across various distribute channels whereas traditional marketing is the end result of marketing.
