Answer #1

To detect the genotype of that fly ( either homozygous or heterozygous for red eye) test cross can be done. In test cross , the F1 progeny is crossed with homozygous recessive individual and results are analyzed. Here fly is red eye coloured is crossed with recessive characters white eye fly. Interpretation can be done as follows shown in attached image below.

    16. So far we have been dealing with alleles found on autosomal chromosomes. These chromosomes contain all the genetic information that is not gender related. As a human, you have 44 autosomal chromosomes (22 pairs → 11 chromosomes from your Mom and 11 chromosomes from your Dad). You also contain a pair of sex chromosomes. These chromosomes contain all the genetic information related to your gender. If you are female, you received an X chromosome from your Mom and an...

. . Please provide an explanation foreach part, and I will give a like. Thank you!!! 1) Researchers cross parental fruit flies with mutations in an eye color gene (either normal Red or mutant Bone) and a body bristle gene (either normal Wild-type or mutant Broken-Bristle). All of the first generation of flies had unbroken bristles and Red eyes. They mated the F1 flies to a fly that was Bone and Broken-Bristle (a test-cross). They examined the phenotypes of the...
