Answer #1

E. Use of non-selective herbicides leads to multi-year contamination of the soil

A herbicide is a substance that is harmful to plants and used to destroy weeds. A non-selective herbicide acts on all plants that comes in contact with it. It is used for clearing sites for various purposes (like construction). As these compounds have broad ranging targets persistence of these in the soil make it hostile for any kind of plant growth leading to multi-year soil contamination.
