Do you think it is wise for a top executive to fire a manager who is bringing in significant sales and profits for the company but not living up to a cultural value "showing respect for employees"? Cite at least two sources used to form your opinion.

I do think it is wise for a top executive to fire a manager who is bringing in big sales and profits for the company but not living up to a cultural value of “showing respect for employees.” A manager meeting performance goals but not upholding cultural values may be profitable in short term, “but the success us difficult to sustain over the long term because the “glue” that holds the organization together-that is, shared cultural values-is missing” . Managers focused only on sales and profits and not their employees feelings, wants, needs, concerns, etc. will result in employee’s frustration, and causing the company to lose valued employees over time.

            This also has to do with cultural leadership. Cultural leaders must uphold their commitment to respecting their employees and also to values during difficult times. “Upholding the cultural values helps organizations weather a crisis and come out stronger on the other side” . Through a cultural leaders words and actions, they let everyone know what really counts in the organization.

            A manager who is not wiling to show respect to their employees will not get any respect back. The employee will put up for it for only so long until they take that negativity received out on their work. If the employee is respected at their workplace, it will result in individual success therefor increasing company profitability. “One of the most important things that managers do is create and influence organizational culture to meet strategic goals because culture has a significant impact on performance” .
