Hello! I have a Microsoft Surface Book 2 and a 2018 MacBook pro. Since the screen can come off and turn into a tablet I was wondering if it is posable to use my surface book as a secondary monitor for my mac, so I can have an extended screen? if anyone knows of a free or non free way, I would greatly appreciate it!

Here is the solution to your problem. I have explained the process step by step along with the image for better understanding.

Please follow it step by step process and don't skip any step.

Step 1:

• Download and install iTunes on Microsoft Surface Book 2.

Step 2:

• Download and install any AirPlay software for windows. There are many software available both free and paid but I recommend you to install 5Kplayer as it is free and I have used it in the past and it works great.
• To Download it simply search "5Kplayer" in google and click the first link that comes and download the windows version then install it.

Step 3:

• Make sure that both 'Microsoft Surface Book 2' and '2018 MacBook pro' are on the same WiFi network.

Step 4:

• Make sure you MacBook pro support AirPlay and is turned on. To check it go to   

   System Preferences -> Display -> Check for Airplay Display

Step 5:

• Open the "5Kplayer" on Microsoft Surface Book 2 and click on the AirPlay icon.

• Then click on the Airplay option on the right side, then turn it on.

• Close the setting window.

Step 6:

• Open the AirPlay on the MacBook pro and you will see and option like "5KPlayer-XXXXXXXX".
• Select it and you are done.
