answer-

Lest first understand what these two methods of promotion are. Direct mail promotion is a way of advertising or promotion in which companies send marketing messages via mail to get response from target customers. Telemarketing is the promotion method in which company's employees involved in the act of selling, soliciting, or promoting a product or service over the telephone .

so three communication strategies to improve direct mail promotions better. first Identify your target market like Where will you be sending your pieces and why? The narrower your target audience, the more effective your campaign will be because your message and offer will resonate more clearly .

second strategy of communication is Focus your message on benefits like Ensure that your copywriting includes the benefits most valuable to the consumer rather than the features of your product or service. Most consumers value cost, peace of mind, convenience and quality .

third make great use of Testimonials in emails like including tangible success stories helps to quantify the consumer's return on investment. Testimonials with a picture of the customer are most effective.

Now its time for improving Telemarketing. Company can use following strategies to improve their telemarketing efforts

Tactical Calling: If your company has only one product or solution category, or if you need to generate business for a niche service line that's targeted toward a specific or unique type of decision-maker, then a tactical, focused calling method is appropriate. In this method the telemarketing representative leads into each call discussing and focusing on one topic.

Needs-based Teleprospecting:If your organization has a large breadth of service lines that all tend to target the same demographic and decision-maker, you may be better served using a needs-based teleprospecting approach. The caller starts each discussion with general open-ended probes, then drills down to the appropriate specifics based upon the prospect's stated needs.

Don’t Sound Like a Telemarketer. Effective telemarketers sound comfortable and relaxed and use natural language. Prospects don’t respond to stiffness and scripted calls. The more you use stock intros like ‘How are you today?’ and over-rehearsed lines, the more the prospect will pick you out as a typical telemarketer from the outset. So, try to soften your initial approach to sound more genuinely interested and interesting and the conversation will have a much better flow.
