Answer #1

Option A

A secondary metabolite is a molecule which does not have a direct role in metabolism of the organism. Instead it confers certain unique advantages to the organism and is the byproduct of primary metabolic activities.

Substances that kill fungus and are produced by bacteria are non nutritive Chemicals and are generally product of primary metabolism in bacteria. Bacteria can survive even if this substance is not produced.

Second option is not a secondary metabolism because it is talking about an enzyme which is involved in glycolysis. Glycolysis is a primary metabolic process in all the organisms because without glycolysis there would be no cellular respiration.

ATP is also a primary metabolite because it is involved in providing energy to the cell to perform its metabolic activities.

Glucose is a primary metabolite because it is the energy fuel for all the cells. Without glucose, the cell would not be able to get energy by undertaking cellular respiration and also polysaccharides like cellulose, stars, glycogen and disaccharides like sucrose and lactose will not be synthesized.

Collagen is a protein which is involved in the formation of bones in human beings. It is also not a secondary metabolite. It has a direct role in the calcium metabolism of human beings.
