: A couple of years ago, an established, highly efficient entertainment company called BigEntertainment purchased a newer, highly innovative entertainment company called CreativeEntertainment.  While the acquisition has been perceived as positive, there have been challenges in combining the two companies as they have very different styles and histories. You work at BigEntertainment’s headquarters, and have been asked to join the team that will evaluate the effectiveness of the now combined company. At the first meeting, the other team members ask how you think they should approach this analysis. What do you suggest?

  • I can approach to evaluate new combined company by understanding what we need to evaluate, what should be the objectives of evaluation. What are the criteria to be used to evaluate such new combine company? I should look at the appropriate standards that new company should follow and compliant with. Next, I should consider various facts or evidence that will help us to know how current combined organization compliant with the standards. I should derive conclusions for each evaluation and ensure justification process. I should know that how combined company can be successful by achieving its goals and objectives.
  • To check effectiveness of new combined company, here, I will perform internal audit, I will assess skills, expertise of each employee and review that these are as needed to meet goals and objective of organization.
  • I will look at the diversity of team members and changes in behavior of each team member over time.
  • I will also document various lesson learned reports, success reports.
  • Correct utilization of resources could be another important step.
