Answer #1

Goodness of Fit Test is applied when you have one categorical variable from a single population. It is used to determine whether sample data are consistent with a hypothesized distribution.

Test for Independence is applied when you have two categorical variables from a single population. It is used to determine whether there is a significant association between the two variables.

So, the number of variables in Goodness of Fit Test is one whereas in Test for Independence , number of variables are two.

The levels of categorical variables in both the test are greater than or equal to two.

Test for Independence is applied when you have two categorical variables whereas the correlation test is applied on bith categorical and continuous numerical variable.
