The specifications for the baby formula sold in small bottles are: 3.000 ounces  0.150 ounces. Your company has designed a production process to fill these small bottles with the baby formula. Two hundred bottles from this process were sampled to measure the amount of baby formula. The average amount of baby formula, calculated from this sample, turned out to be 3.042 ounces (this would imply that the process average = 3.042 ounces). The standard deviation of the amounts was 0.034 ounces (this would imply that the standard deviation of the process = 0.034 ounces).

a) Is this process capable with respect to the issue of “Target?”

b) Is this process capable with respect to the issue of: “Width?”

c) What proportion of the bottles meets the specifications?

d) Are you satisfied with the results? If not, why not?

So Far I Have calculated the Cp, and Cpk, with the answers being 1.47 for Cp & 1.05 Min for Cpk

Formula's: Cp= (Usl-LSl) / (6* S.D)

Cpk= Min [ ( (USL-U) / (3(SD)) ] ,   [ (U-LSL) / (3(SD)) ) ]
