Explain how the increase of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere could result in a reduction of whale populations in the ocean.
When the whale population in an ocean is decreased, then tina fish number is increased in the ocean. This leads to decreases in squid and Herring. Now the zooplankton increased which will show high consumption of phytoplankton. Hence phytoplankton is decreased. With decrease in number of phytoplankton, the carbon dioxide sequestration is decreased by the phytoplankton. That's why there is found increase in carbon dioxide.

use Le chatelier principle to explain how an increase in carbon dioxide in the atmosphere affects the ph of lakes rivers and oceans
Scientists predict that as atmospheric carbon dioxide levels increase, the pH of the oceans will drop. What is the best explanation for this hypothesis? As the pH of the ocean increases, more carbon dioxide is released into the atmosphere As the pH of the ocean decreases, more carbon dioxide is released into the atmosphere O Carbon dioxide combines with water to form a base Carbon dioxide combines with water to form an acid As the oceans warm, more water is...
CLO-1 Excess atmospheric carbon dioxide increase greenhouse effect as carbon dioxide precipitates dust in the atmosphere reduces atmospheric pressure and thereby increase temperature widens the hole in the ozone layer o absorbs and re-emits infrared rays
Carbon dioxide from fossil fuels, in addition to warming the atmosphere, is also a primary cause of toxic air pollution in the Arctic. deforestation. acidification of ocean water. an increase in the size of the ozone hole. soil degradation.

Question Why is the carbon cycle no longer able to maintain the levels of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere? Select the correct answer below: O the increase in the burning of oil, which increases the level of carbon dioxide produced and released into the atmosphere O the increase in the burning of coal, which increases the level of carbon dioxide produced and released into the atmosphere O the increased use of limestone, which releases carbon dioxide into the atmosphere O...
37. What is the main cause of the increase in the amount of carbon dioxide in Earth's atmosphere over the past 150 years?

The atmosphere of Mars is composed almost entirely of carbon dioxide, with an average temperature of -63 degree C. Carbon dioxide is roughly monatomic. a. What is the rms speed of a molecule in Mars atmosphere? b. What speed would a 1 gram paper clip have if it had the same average kinetic energy as a molecule in Mars atmosphere? c. No enhancement this week. Use this extra time to review the first weeks material and bring in questions on...
Assume that trees are subjected to different levels of carbon dioxide atmosphere with 7% of the trees in a minimal growth condition at 360 parts per million (ppm), 12% at 440 ppm (slow growth), 46% at 550 ppm (moderate growth), and 35% at 650 ppm (rapid growth). What is the mean and standard deviation of the carbon dioxide atmosphere (in ppm) for these trees?
