The dominated strategy means the strategy provides lower pay off than the other strategy. It is beneficial because the dominant strategy equilibrium is worse and the cooperative equilibrium is better than the dominant strategy equilibrium as the both paler as dominant strategies but the strategies will result in higher losses.
