Sixteen motes (miniature low-cost processors with built-in sensors) are being used to monitor the average temperature of a furnace. Each mote has limited communication ability and can communicate with two other motes only. The wireless network of motes is not partitioned. Find out how each mote can determine the average temperature of the furnace.

Answer #1

Since the wireless network of each mote is not partitioned.
Therefore the concept of globally shared memory can be used
in which each mote will going to store it's sensed temperature
of the furnace using the wireless network. This basically a
concept of multiple instruction multiple data(MIMD) because
each mote has it's own microprocessor which is going to process
multiple instructions during sensing the temperature and
these multiple processors will going to produce multiple data
of the sensed temperatures which is going to be stored in the
shared memory. Finally a program will be executed which is
going to access this shared memory and calculate the average
temperature of the furnace using the collective data store
in the memory. And now each mote can access this average temperature.
