However, the cheetah's hunting strategy has to be based on acceleration not on speed alone, because the cheetah must catch the gazelle within 15 s or risk brain damage from overheating.

The cheetah can reach its top speed in 3 s. The gazelle’s acceleration is 5 m/s2. How close to the gazelle must the cheetah sneak in order to begin its chase?
