Background: Functioning of any organ or a component of an organ in the human body can be modeled as a system with inputs and outputs. Although most biological systems are non-linear, simplified linear models are valuable in various applications such as designing biomedical instruments, drug dosage, and process control.

  1. Conduct a comprehensive literature search to find linear models of physiological system/process.
  2. Based on your search, choose a physiological system to model. Identify the inputs/outputs and the system equation/s that relate the input to the output.
  3. Test the system equation for linearity and time invariance.
  4. Analytically solve the linear system equation
  5. Find the output of the system for a given set of physiologically relevant inputs.

Answer #1

This problem is in extensively in linear case and edge of the internal structure of the system. The main advantage of obtaining an equivalent paramagnetic model. The methodology and principles for linear multi- variate paramagnetic modelling are presented first. A general linear time series model which bring together most of the commonly used linear multi- variate models.

The function of an organ system depends on the integrated activity of it's organs. For instance, digestive system organ cooperate to process food . The survival of organism depend on the integrated activity of all the organ system, often coordinated by the endocrine and the nervous system.
