Quality of design can be defined as the extent to which the design specifications of a product fulfill the expectations of a customer For example if a coffee mug is designed in such a manner that the users are not able to hold the hande of the mug properly, then it will indicate the poor design quality.

Quality of conformance indicates the extent to which the design specifications are satisfied by the product. For instance, there can be a sufficient size of the handle of the coffee mug but the handle breaks easily due to poor manufacturing quality then it will be said to have the poor conformance of quality as it is not able to meet the design specifications

When it comes to manufacturing businesses, the Quality of design can be understood by the difference in the product quality and conformance of two products such as a normal android cell phone and iPhone. However the basic operation fo both types of phones is to enable the customer to talk but these two cell phones have different features, designs and adherence to the quality and features. iPhone is known for its world's best quality and innovative features.

Similarly, in the case of services, this could be understood by Starbucks and a normal coffee outlet. Both provide the hot beverages and coffees to their customers but the service quality, quality of the raw materials differ from each other.
