Yes, it is certainly possible that computers will become more powerful than humans in the near future in certain domains. Computers process information faster, they tend to learn things faster than humans and have a better memory than humans. If we actually get a little bit deeper into the processing techniques of humans and computers, we will notice that humans are intelligent whereas computers are fast. Machines do not have intelligence and that may be one of the few areas where humans can't be replaced. That is, in the near future humans would be good enough for creating computers and machines but not really that useful for other tasks. Machines do not suffer from fatigue and it is a big advantage for them. Neither do they have emotions, which may again work in favor or against them. Machines can only do what they are programmed to do and because of this humans can't be replaced completely. But once a machine is at work at some place, they perform much much better than humans.
