Once absorbed from circulation, branched chain amino acids can be broken down to Acetyl CoA by the BCKD enzyme complex. If one Valine produces one Acetyl coA and no energy is captured during that reaction, what is the total theoretical yield of ATP from one molecule of Valine? Assume O2 is readily available.

Ath Acetyl CoA produced from valine enters the citric acid cycle. During glycolysis, 2 pyruvate molecules are produced. So 2 Acetyl CoA enters the citric acid cycle. In that case, 2 ATP molecules are produced.

Here in this question, it is said that only one Acetyl CoA is produced from valine by the BCKD enzyme complex. So only one ATP molecule will be produced during the citric acid cycle.
