Solution:- Given that mean = 17, sd = 2.1, n = 42 X = 17.8

P(X > 17.8) = P((X-mean)/(Sd/sqrt(n)) > (17.8-17)/(2.1/sqrt(42)))
= P(Z > 2.4689)
= 1 − P(Z < 2.4689)
= 1 − 0.9932
= 0.0068

the probability that the sample mean is more than 17.8 litres is 0.0068
