During the course of development many cells can undergo epithelial to mesenchymal
transitions and vice versa. When this happens the adhesion of cells to each other and their
connections to the extracellular matrix changes. This leads to changes in the transcription
of many genes. Give one example of how a change in cell adhesion or connection to the
extracellular matrix might cause transcriptional changes through signaling pathways.
