A Venn diagram is basically a visual representation of the relationship between two or more sets using circles.
This is an example of a Venn Diagram
The shading in a venn diagram represents the relationship between elements in the sets based on some set criteria. If we have to find the union of two sets, we shade the area which shows that particular union. Shading makes it easier for visual representation and to highlight the required relationship between the sets.
