Problem Problem List Next Problem (1 point) Test the claim that the population of sophomore college students has a mean grade point average greater than 2.1. Sample statistics include n=100, x¯¯¯=2.47, and s=0.6. Use a significance level of α=0.03. The test statistic is The critical value is The P-Value is The final conclustion is A. There is sufficient evidence to support the claim that the mean grade point average is greater than 2.1. B. There is not sufficient evidence to support the claim that the mean grade point average is greater than 2.1.

Answer #1

Below are the null and alternative Hypothesis,
Null Hypothesis, H0: μ = 2.1
Alternative Hypothesis, Ha: μ > 2.1

Test statistic,
t = (xbar - mu)/(s/sqrt(n))
t = (2.47 - 2.1)/(0.6/sqrt(100))
t = 6.167

P-value Approach
P-value = 0
As P-value < 0.03, reject the null hypothesis.

There is sufficient evidence to support the claim that the mean grade point average is greater than 2.1
