Ans : c) The total force due to collisions per unit area

The pressure exerted by gas is due to the fact that its particles hit the walls of container. As the number of particles of gas increase , their collisions per unit area also increase. This gives rise to the pressure of the gas. These collisions are considered as elastic and no energy is lost in such collisions.
