The genes are inherited to the next generation with help of the alleles and the expression of the dominant alleles. As the homologous recombination takes place, there is reshuffling which leads to inheriting alleles where one allele from mother and one from father. Each cell in the body of humans have 23 pairs of chromosome where one chromosome from each pair comes from mother and one from father. This is an example in humans of how the genes are inherited from the parents.
