Answer #1

P(winner is from Conservative Party) = 0.34

P(winner is from Liberal Party) = 0.36

P(winner is from Independent Party) = 0.29

P(no winner) = 0.01

P(winner will be either of the two non-Independent candidates) = P(winner is from Conservative Party) + P(winner is from Liberal Party)

= 0.34 + 0.36

= 0.70
