Answer #1

An increased reliance on local organizations as well as market forces to operate historic sites can lead to a bit skewed and biased results. The local organizations and market forces may want to project the local historic site in better light, which eventually may affect the overall credibility of the site. Moreover gathering funds for maintenance of such sites may become quite difficult in future, as the overall authenticity of performance of the site is skewed and partially based on favoritism. In my views, if there is reliance on local organizations as well as market forces to operate historic sites, then it will be better to hire an independent national body to audit the performance of the site and establish its overall effectiveness.
