Data Scientist is the person who is analytical data experts. They have technical skills and knowledge and solve complex problems. They have the curiosity to explore many problems and their solutions. It can be also said as a part of mathematics and computer scientists. Data scientists also give solutions to the problems for big data of the business. For such problems to get solved, they require a strong academic background for better answers and decision making. The key functions or activities required in a data analyst, are like creativity, curiosity, high tech ideas, new ways of earning the profit.

From the management perspective, a data scientist should possess some qualities that would help him to be a good leader as well as an effective data analyst. The following are the required skills and qualities in a data scientist:

1. Analytical skills: the scientists are required to be strong in numbers, that is they should be strong in quantitative ability. They should be also good in logical reasoning. Their mathematics should be strong enough and they should not be afraid of big numerical values. These people should stick to the logical data-keeping apart the emotional quotient in them. They should have a good understanding of their concepts so, that they can clearly explain them.

2. Narrative ability: the scientist should be a good storyteller. As they need to convey their concepts to the no technical people in their group and make them understand the technicalities. Hence they are required to be a good narrator, to explain themselves in a better way. The data scientist has to tell how to collect data, from where to collect data, what are the findings, etc.

3. Team player: as the data scientists are the leaders in their team, and they have a big team to lead. He should be a good team player, who will keep every person in the team as a priority. He has to consider all the team members in the team and make them understand about the projects.

4. Problem solver: a data scientist is definitely expected to be a problem solver. He is the one who has to think out of the box and keep on innovating new methods. If they know about the situation and problem then only they can help in collecting the right candidates, and tools required in the project.
