Answer #1

Culture means different things to different people. But, if we look at the universal definition of culture, it can be referred as a set of traditional beliefs and values that are transmitted and shared in a given society. It comprises values, beliefs, rituals, traditions which vary from people to people.

I think as a global community, we are becoming globally very homogeneous to what was originally used to differentiate two entities. We are becoming culturally similar owing to a series of things but the most powerful tool which made this homogenization happen is what people call Globalization and I call " Shared Purpose of interdependence". It was because of this globalisation and therefore homogeneity of culture that what was once seen a Japanese concept is more prevalent in America, be it Kaizen, Six Sigma or for that matter Sushi. It only goes on to tell us that cultural diffusion and hybridisation is becoming a norm. Despite belonging to diverse ethnicities and backgrounds, we are connected by so many things and we relate with each other. We are more and more using one language that is truly becoming global which is English. We expect Starbucks, McDonald's and Coca-Cola to be everywhere we go and shows us how brands are trying hard to differentiate themselves and at the same are trying to be global.
