Use kinetic theory to explain why the volume of a balloon will increase when the temperature is increased. Kinetic theory is not using PV = nRT, explain the behavior.

Kinetic theory states that gases are made up of submicroscopic particles that are at continuous random motion. When temperature of a gas is increased, the kinetic energy and rms speed of the particles increase. The gas molecules will hit the container walls more frequently and at a faster pace. If the container is expandable, the volume of the container increases as a result of this.
