The enzyme that is the most abundant on earth is RuBisCO: Ribulose Bisphosphate Carboxylase/oxygenase.

This is essential for fixing atmospheric carbon dioxide in plants during photosynthesis. The reason that this enzyme is the most abundant is because it is highly inefficient, the number of CO2 molecules it fixes is about 3 molecules per second. Any normal enzyme would process a thousand molecules per second.

Therefore, plants need to make abundant amount of RuBisCO in order to increase the efficiency in fixing atmospheric CO2.
