The creation of the electoral college in the constitution was designed to keep power in the hands of the white male elite and prevent democratic election of the executive.

I agree with the statement which suggests that electing the president has always lied in the hands of the wealthy and power elites who were also happened to be white males who were selected by the member of house and the senators for the monetary support they provided to their success in the elections. Thus, power and money interplay and begets each other. So, the president would represent the power elites in many ways and wouldn’t become a president for all. It’s because the president is not elected by the people directly thus, with the electoral college in place, the dominance of power and wealth would play their roles. This is because of the accumulated advantage the white people have on others. This accumulated wealth and power is the result of continuous oppression of the people of power for centuries which still reflects in the society.
