1. Are you eligible to receive unemployment if you resign?

2. should you resign or wait to find out if and when you are laid off?

1)If you quit voluntarily you may not get unemployment benefit,But it also depends or we can say totally depends on why have we resigned.If we have resigned for a good cause you may be eligible and since unemployment programs are being administered by states, your eligibility may vary depending on where you live.Hence two conditions are their firstly cause and secondly the place of your living.

2)This question is all about the organization and your personel perspective. you need to draw fine line between remaining loyal to your company and covering your needs.You got to analyse your job perspective what are the future scope ?Are you on the bank or in middle of an ocean.Ask youself what will you get from the organization till you are being laid off?What is your financial situation as can you wait to take the risk or move on to find a secure place .All these will help you to evaluate whether you should wait or not and one of the most important thing what's you mental well being?Are you under constant presure or you are effeciently handling situations.If everything is against you then you must move on before being laid off.
