Carbon dioxide accumulate in environment and is responsible for the greenhouse effect. Human activities are responsible for almost all of the increase in carbon dioxide in the atmosphere. United States produce largest amount of carbon dioxide. Main sources of the emissions are burning of fossil fules for heat and electricity and transportation.

Burning of fossil fules : alone Electricity production generates more than 28% of total greenhouse emission. This is due to burning of fossil fules, mostly coal and natural gases.

Transportation : transportation generate the largest share of greenhouse gas emission. which is about 30% from burning of fuel from Car, Truck, ship, train, and planes.
