Your blood sugar levels have spiked and after examination, there is an increase in G6P levels. Using your knowledge on both the signaling pathway and glycolysis, how might your body regulate this imbalance? Identify the regulatory enzyme which has unique allosteric binding. Draw and explain a Michaelis-Menten plot for the two separate conditions of activation of the enzyme.

Conversion of glucose into glycogen occur in the muscle and liver.About 80 to 90%of the glucose metabolized is converted to pyruvic and lactic acid mainly in liver & muscles.During glycolysis,glucose-6-phosphate is formed in the muscles from glucose.Glucose-6-phosphate and fructose-6-phosphate are freely interconvertible .The reaction is catalyzed by phosphoglucose isomerase . Fructose-6-phosphate is phosphorylated to form fructose-1,6-diphosphate by phosphofructokinase enzyme in the presence of Mg++ and ATP.
