In the field of labor there is the dogmatism that women who are mothers have a higher level of commitment to their children's care compared to their performance in the work. It is no less true that they play an important role in children's care, but their productivity and work performance is not at the same level as men do. These ideas stem partly from the traditional gender division that views men as providers, and women as housekeepers. This has resulted in a spike in the compensation they receive for results as it is believed that men should receive a higher salary because they are family providers. The media also helped to reinforce these negative perceptions, with stories suggesting that women tend to be housewives rather than a job. Similarly, employers who hold such views contribute to women's negative perceptions and prejudice.

The effects of these faulty social concepts often have a negative effect on the health of women to such an extent that they generate high levels of stress that are often mirrored in their home relationships. In addition to being held responsible for domestic tasks, the tension of working while waiting for the attention of children, such as food and clothing, while the man believes that his responsibility is only to provide income. No employers will recognize the need for sudden leave provisions in women with young children, as the woman expected to take care of a sick child remains. Because of these arrangements, women who are working mothers receive less hours of work than men, or work only part-time, also receive less compensation and benefits, resulting in a long-term detrimental effect on them.
