During the revolutionary war, women were said to be known as the camp followers where their role was of importance in assisting the soldiers as seamstresses,washerwomen, cooks etc. They also helped in the process of dealing with supplies and providing medical aid and were also sent as spies on an occasional basis. This also laid the basis for the right to vote for women in the future. They however faces challenges such as being limited from taking part in the legal front and representation as they were considered inferior to men and their rights were limited on a large basis.
