Any suggests that we should “fake it till we make it”. Do you think that by adopting power poses, we are faking it or tapping into our inner confidence?

I personally do not believe in the concept of power poses or ‘fake it till we make it’. This is so because fake can never give us the real confidence. In fact, we shall get so carried away with the power poses that someday, we may consider the fake to be real and a fact of life, which shall unfortunately begin to ruin our own essence of identity. Power poses disregards authenticity and therefore I believe, we are simply faking it and not actually making a genuine efforts to retrospect our areas of weaknesses and act upon the same. Hence, in the process, we fail to tap our true inner confidence. With power poses, we tend to live in the world of illusion where facts are manipulated to make us feel good and render us with unrealistic confidence in self. Power poses often attempts in overpowering our mind to get a control over the body in a manner the others deem it to be appropriate. It further ignores the non-verbal cues that our body tends to pass.

Hence, power poses suppresses authenticity of being self and original and therefore we are simply faking it.
