The distinction between low spin and high spin complex disappear in the case of lower transition metals like rhodium and iridium . This is due to the reason that the size of 4d and 5d series is exceptionally large. So the ligand easily approaches the metal and the d electrons of metal repel the incoming ligand with higher rate no matter which type of ligand is coming.
But in case of 3d series , the size of metal atom is small and hence the approach will depend on the ligand. Thats why in case of 3d series there is a distiction between high and low spin complex but not in 4d and 5d series.
