Which of the following statements about MAE, SSE and RMSE is FALSE? Check all that apply.

Lower values are perferred.

MAE stands for Mean Absolute Error.

RMSE is the square root of MAE.

None can be negative.

SSE is the scaled down version of RMSE.

SSE stands for Sum of Squared Error.

They can be used to compare two applications of the same forecasting method.

They are unitless.

Errors do not cancel out each other.

RMSE stands for Root Mean Squared Error.

A positive value means the forecasting method is biased.

MAE is always greater than SSE.

Answer -

They are unitless.

RMSE is the square root of MAE.

None can be negative.

All the MAE, SSE and RMSE have their units. Besides, RMSE is the square root of MSE and not Mean Absolute Error. They can range from 0 to infinity as they are also negative oriented scores. So, when the values are lowered it is considered as more preferred. SSE stands for Sum of squared error.

Hope this helps :)
