50% NaOH solutions Molarity =

10*%of solute*density/molar mass of NaOH

10*50*1.53/40

= 19.125M

According to volumetric law M1V1 = M2V2

M1 = molarity of NaOH solution before dilution = 19.125M

V1 = volume NaOH solution = 2.95 ml

M2= molarity of NaOH solution after dilution =?

V2 = volume of NaOH solution after water addition =

500 ml - 2.95 ml

= 497.05 ml

M2 = M1V1/V2

= 19.125*2.95/497.05

= 0.1135 M

After water addition NaOH solution Molarity= 0.1 135 M
