Answer #1

Answer

(A) heights of male students is a ratio variable because we can compare heights between two males and at the same time, height also has an absolute zero value.

(B)  The first three finishers of a car race is an ordinal variable because it is a natural way of ordering the finishers, i.e. ordering from top to bottom like 1, 2, 3, etc., So it is ordinal variable

(C) Temperature in Fahrenheit is a interval variable because it has no absolute zero value and it has significant difference value. So, it is interval variable

(D) types of car in a parking lot is a nominal variable because we can only name types of car, but we can never arrange them in a specific manner, like we did in first three finisher. So, it is a nominal variable as there is no ordering, but only naming involved.

Mean = 34

Median = 21

We know that when the mean is larger than median, we have a positive skewed data. When mean is smaller than median, we have a negative skewed data. When mean is equal to median, we have a normal data.

In this case, mean is larger than median, so it is positive skewed data or right skewed data
