Answer #1

Antidepressant discontinuation syndrome is the tendency to feel ill just after someone stops taking the antidepressant medications. These medications are highly powerful and greatly affect your hormonal balance. When you suddenly stop taking the medications the body is not prepared for the change and shows adverse effects that it would show on the absence of those chemicals or hormones. So the best way to avoid it is by lowering its doses gradually . It is called as tapering. The lower doses with the consent of the physician will help getting back to normal gradually without antidepressant discontinuation syndrome.
