The Solaris documentation states that a ULT may yield to another thread of the same priority....

The Solaris documentation states that a ULT may yield to another thread of the same priority. Isn't it possible that there will be a runnable thread of higher priority and that therefore the yield function should result in yielding to a thread of the same or higher priority?

This is in regards to operating systems: internals and design principals - 8th edition.

The User Level Threads can be in the unable, active, sleeping, and stopped states. A user thread is in the active state is currently assigned to a light weight process and executes while the underlying kernel thread executes. The user level thread leaves the active state when thread synchronization by itself, suspension of the user level thread preemption due to high priority userlevel thread arrival yielding.
