where,

R = 8.314 J K-1mol-1
T = 2000 K
M = 16.04 g mol-1

where,

R = 0.0821 X 10-3 atm m3 K-1mol-1
T = 2000 K
σ= 380 pm= 380 X10-12 m (diameter of the methane molecule)
NA = 6.022×1023 mol-1
P = 1 atm

Mean Free path = 1.616 X 10-16 m

So, the statement is false.
