The things that employers will utilize to actually check the background are:

- Criminal records- This check is done to identify if there is any criminal history for the candidate.

- Home Verification – This is done to ensure that the candidate has provided the correct address without faking.

- Social Security Number- This check is done to ensure that they are genuine.

- Former workplaces- A background check is done in the former workplaces.

- Social media- such as LinkedIn where the candidate might have several professional network.

The social media that provides details of the candidate for background verification is Facebook and LinkedIn. Facebook will showcase this behavior and attitude. It also facilitates the address check for the candidate. Then, LinkedIn provides details of the professional history record of the candidate.
